overview

The 2026 Northern Lights Classic runs June 6–7, 2026, near Aneta, North Dakota, hosted by Northern Plains Precision. This is a field-style, two-day PRS Pro Series Qualifier set on expansive private land overlooking the Sheyenne River.

Designed for experienced PRS competitors and capable regional shooters, the match focuses on practical fundamentals rather than gimmicks. Expect natural terrain positions, consistent stage difficulty regardless of start order, and wind as the primary challenge rather than dust or artificial obstacles.

What to expect:

  • Field-style PRS format with natural terrain positions
  • Targets to 1,400 yards; most engagements inside 800 yards
  • Rolling hills, varied angles, and near-360° shooting arcs
  • On-site primitive camping; water and lunch provided
  • Friday zero/check-in day with side stages
  • Awards banquet in McVille following Day 2

Shooter Insight:

The ability to manage wind across changing angles matters more here than barricade efficiency.
