The 2026 Peterson Cartridge Challenge takes place August 8–10, 2026, at MKM Precision in Kennerdell, Pennsylvania. Hosted in association with the Precision Rifle Series, this event attracts experienced PRS competitors alongside newer shooters ready for a fast-paced, professionally run match.
The competition is a two-day bolt-gun PRS-style match, preceded by an optional Friday tune-up day for zero confirmation and mover practice. Expect efficient match flow, minimal downtime, and a course of fire that blends technical shooting with physical and time stress.
What to expect:
- 18–20 stages across two days
- Engagements from 300–1,100 yards
- Steel, reactive, and automated moving targets
- Dual 1,000-yard ranges plus a 650-yard positional range
- Approx. 200-round count, calibers .300 Win Mag and below
Shooter Insight:
The tune-up day is valuable for mover data and stress-proofing fundamentals, but it won’t give any preview advantage; COF knowledge is tightly controlled.
