The 2026 THS Steel Challenge runs July 18–19, 2026, at Willow Creek Wildlife near Fort Pierre, South Dakota. This two-day Precision Rifle Series Pro Series match brings national-level competition back to the Dakotas with a focus on realistic field fire and disciplined stage design.
The match is built for experienced competitors chasing PRS points, while remaining approachable for capable regional shooters. Expect hunting-influenced stages with animal targets, solid props, and moderate movement that rewards efficient fundamentals over gimmicks.
What to expect:
- Field-style PRS match with 18–20 stages.
- Target distances from 300–1,200 yards (majority 400–800 yards)
- Smaller targets are typical of national-level PRS events.
- Approx. 200-round count plus sight-in and reshoots
- On-stage lunch Saturday; awards banquet Sunday
- Central Time zone—critical for scheduling and check-in
Shooter Insight:
Wind management and positional efficiency will matter more than raw distance, as few targets exceed 2 MOA.
