overview

The Eagle Trap Sniper Challenge runs June 19–21 at Clark Ranch in the Sweetgrass Hills of North Central Montana, with check-in and zero confirmation on June 18. This is a physical, team-based sniper match built for experienced shooters comfortable with precision rifle, gas gun, pistol, navigation, medical tasks, and field problem-solving.

Match includes:

  • Three-day team matches with land navigation, cold bore, medical, movement, and RTC-style stages.
  • Precision rifle, 5.56 gas gun/MK12-style rifle, and pistol required for each competitor
  • Suppressors required on long guns; pistol suppressors preferred but not mandatory
  • Includes high-angle shooting, near-peer/zero-electronics engagement, react-to-contact, TIC, HVT, and pair-fire stages
  • Estimated max round count: 250 precision rifle, 200 DMR/MK12, 300 pistol
  • Dry camping is recommended; the nearest lodging is Shelby, Montana, about 45 minutes away.

Shooter Insight:

This is not a square-range precision match; the combination of land nav, no-electronics stages, ruck loadout, and multiple weapon systems makes preparation as important as marksmanship.
