Redemption at the Ranch is a multi-day ELR series hosted May 21–25, 2026, by DMR Gun Club at Day Mountain Ranch in Preston, Idaho. The weekend stacks three Extreme Long Range formats back-to-back -Light, Heavy, and a two-day Open ELR Field Match - followed by a Memorial Day Hunter match.
The focus is true ELR performance on elevated ridge terrain, with steel engagements from mid-range stretch distances to well past a mile.
Event Breakdown
- May 21 (Thursday): ELR Light – up to .338 caliber, 26 lb rifle limit, distances 1,000–2,560 yards
- May 22 (Friday): ELR Heavy – up to .50 caliber, 50 lb rifle limit, distances to 2 miles
- May 23–24 (Saturday–Sunday): ELR Open (2-Day Field Match) – 16 stages, ~128 rounds, 600–2,310 yards (most 850–1,350)
- May 25 (Monday): Hunter Match
Match Format
- Light & Heavy: traditional ELR distance challenge (5 rounds per target; score multiplied by shot number and distance)
- Open ELR: 16 field-style stages over two days with multiple engagements per stage
- Elevated tower access via shuttle; shooters meet at the Welcome Center
- King of 1 Mile and King of 2 Mile qualifier (Light/Heavy divisions)
Round Count & Flow
- Light / Heavy: ~30 rounds per day
- Open: ~128 rounds total
- Open check-in & zero: Friday noon–6 PM, with steel available to 1 mile

- Meals included for all matches (Friday & Saturday fully covered for Open)
- Multi-match or DMR members receive discounts.
- On-site cabins, bunk rooms, and camping are available through DMR Resort.
Experience Level
This series is built for experienced ELR shooters comfortable managing wind, elevation, recoil control, and ballistic data beyond 1,000 yards. The Open match adds stage movement and higher round count endurance.
Shooter Insight:
Running multiple divisions across the same ridge system rewards shooters who can quickly adapt dope and wind calls to changing conditions over consecutive days.
This is a full-spectrum ELR weekend for shooters who want distance, stage volume, and scoring depth in one setting.
