Eagle Peak Shooting Range in Leander, Texas, is a public outdoor rifle range with covered paper-target shooting from 50 to 300 yards, suited to hunters and shooters refining mid-range rifle fundamentals.

Flat firing lanes stretch into a straightforward paper-only setup built around controlled bench shooting rather than tactical or competition-style movement. Covered firing points with carpeted benches, stools, and supplied sandbags create a stable environment for zero confirmation, group testing, and refining holds at 50, 100, 200, and 300 yards. The range layout is simple and functional, with clear target lines, bermed backstops, and wire partitions separating shooters along the firing line. Wind and mirage become the primary variables once stepping past 200 yards, especially during hotter Central Texas afternoons, but the overall environment remains structured and predictable compared to larger PRS or ELR facilities. Steel targets, barricades, rooftops, and prone field areas are absent, keeping the focus on disciplined paper-target shooting from supported positions with strict line control and ammunition rules.
Key Features:
Eagle Peak suits hunters confirming dope, recreational precision shooters, and newer long-range rifle owners looking for a controlled environment to build consistency at practical mid-range distances. It is less suited to PRS, ELR, or positional shooters seeking steel, barricades, or field-style engagements.
