In the Blue Ridge Mountains, close to the West Virginia and Virginia border, The Peacemaker National Training Center (PNTC) spans over 800 acres of varied terrain. It supports a wide range of shooting disciplines for both recreational and professional marksmen.
PNTC features over 40 ranges, including:
- Independence Range: 5–300 yards (paper & steel targets) open to the public
- Frontier Range: 200–1,000 yards with elevated firing points, steel targets, and unknown-distance scenarios
- Starlight Range: 100–500 yards with barricades for positional shooting
- Patriot Range: a covered 1,000-yard range with concrete benches (currently closed)
- Liberty and Homeplace Ranges: for tactical and shotgun sports, including skeet, trap, and 5-stand
Disciplines supported include PRS/NRL-style shooting, F-Class, benchrest, and comprehensive long-range rifle courses. PNTC offers instruction from certified professionals like Wade Shambaugh and Kristi Shambaugh, with classes covering external ballistics, wind calls, and practical field shooting from 30 to 1,100 yards.
Memberships—ranging from Marksman to Patriot (for MIL/LE/First Responders) offer tiered access to exclusive ranges and training zones. The Independence Range remains open to the public. At the same time, high-value ranges such as Frontier, Starlight, and Patriot are exclusive to members.
With scenic shooting lanes, steel targets, positional props, and dynamic elevation shifts, Peacemaker is ideal for serious long-range shooters, competition prep, and full-spectrum rifle training.
