Located in Scarborough, Maine, the Scarborough Fish & Game Association offers a 600-yard rifle range, electronic targets, and monthly public events ideal for precision shooters and developing marksmen.
Scarborough Fish & Game Association (SFGA) is a 247-acre private shooting club founded in 1958 and located just outside Portland, Maine. With over 1,000 members, it offers a diverse range of shooting disciplines. Still, it is particularly well-regarded for its rifle program, which supports distances out to 600 yards.
The rifle range features firing points at 100, 200, 300, 500, and 600 yards, with Shotmaker Electronic Targets available for training and matches. Members can shoot paper targets up to 300 yards by default; vetted members gain access to the 500- and 600-yard lines. Monthly Open Rifle Sessions and fun matches are open to the public, and the club actively welcomes new shooters. Precision shooters can take advantage of one-on-one coaching and advanced wind-reading and mirage classes led by experienced volunteers.
The terrain features wooded backstops, open lanes, and seasonal access challenges, such as iced-over conditions on the 600-yard line during winter. While full access requires membership, many events remain open to the public.
This facility suits new precision shooters, PRS-style competitors, and civilian long-range enthusiasts looking for structured growth in a private, well-equipped setting.
