1-Day Intro Long Range Precision Rifle Course

Pilot Mountain Arms’ 1-Day Intro to Long Range Precision Rifle Course is ideal for new or self-taught shooters looking to establish the fundamentals of precision rifle shooting. This quick course teaches important skills in one day. It provides a clear path to move on to more advanced training.

You’ll start with firearms safety and transition quickly into rifle setup, prone shooting mechanics, recoil management, and scope fundamentals. Core concepts include MOA vs. MIL adjustments, ballistic solvers (such as Kestrel or an app), and data collection out to 1,100 yards. Shooters will also be introduced to reticle use, spotting techniques, and wind calls—essential building blocks for PRS, hunting, or tactical precision.

Training is hands-on with steel targets from 100 to 1,320 yards at a dedicated long-range facility in Rose Hill, NC, featuring static and reactive targets at various distances.

Gear requirements include a precision rifle (.308 or similar caliber), 100+ rounds of match-grade ammunition, a quality optic with turrets, a bipod, a rear bag, an anti-cant level, and a ballistic calculator or app. A shooting mat and spotting scope are recommended but not required.
