Bobby Hart's One-Day Long Range Class is a focused, hands-on introduction to precision shooting designed for hunters, new long-range enthusiasts, or anyone looking to understand their rifle setup and ballistics better. With a 6-hour training day (9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), students receive a balance of classroom instruction and live-fire range work under realistic outdoor conditions.
You'll start by learning the core mechanics of long-range accuracy:
- How to select the right rifle, caliber, and twist rate
- MOA (Minutes of Angle) and mil-radian concepts
- Understanding barrels, triggers, crowns, and optics
- How to build a stable shooting position, adjust turrets, and read wind at known distances
Field instruction emphasizes practical exercises like:
- Uphill/downhill shooting
- Ballistic theory
- Rangefinding techniques
- Trigger control and follow-through
Shooters will engage targets out to 400 yards. Rifles can be rented for an additional fee ($2.50 per round if using their ammunition). Lunch is included, and local lodging is available. Class size is limited to 2–10 students for this one-day format, whereas the four-person, multi-day school fills up quickly.
It is ideal for newer precision shooters or hunters ready to step into the world of long-range shooting.
