The 2026 Team Safari runs October 15–18, 2026 near Logan, New Mexico, at Blue Steel Ranch, the same terrain used for Steel Safari. This is a two-man, hike-and-shoot rifle match focused on practical field marksmanship rather than physical endurance.
Teams consist of one long-range rifle shooter and one semi-auto carbine shooter, working together to locate, range, and engage reactive steel targets under strict time limits. The format mirrors Steel Safari but in a team setting, with no night stages and reduced physical demands compared to TBTC.
What to expect:
- 3-day match with 24–27 stages across three field courses
- Rifle targets ~150–800 yards; carbine targets ~100–500 yards
- Unknown-distance, non-standard reactive steel targets
- Teams RO the squad behind them (Steel Safari format)
- Competitors carry all gear; rugged desert terrain at ~4,000 ft
Shooter Insight:
This match rewards clean teamwork and time management more than raw speed—teams that fumble ranging or communication will bleed points fast.
