The Willow Creek Washout runs June 26–28, 2026, in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies west of Stavely, Alberta. This NRL Hunter event is built around realistic hunting scenarios using natural terrain rather than square-range props.
Competitors will engage targets from 150 to 900 yards, with a few stretches potentially reaching 1,200 yards. Most targets are 2 MOA, with smaller plates interspersed to expose weaknesses in range, wind, and equipment. The match consists of 18 stages over two days, with meaningful walking between stages and limited comfort features; very much a field-style event.
What to expect:
- Natural terrain stages in rolling foothills
- 18 stages total (12 Saturday, 6–8 Sunday)
- Targets mostly 2 MOA, some smaller
- Approx. 144 rounds plus zero/chrono
- 100-yard zero only; no long-distance confirmation on-site
- Moderate physical demand with gear carried stage to stage
Shooter Insight:
With no extended-distance zeroing available, this match quietly punishes anyone who shows up with unverified dope past 800 yards.
