Jeff VanCleave

Jeff VanCleave is the founder and lead instructor of Rocky Mountain Precision Training, bringing over two decades of real-world law enforcement and SWAT experience to the range. A retired police officer with a 22-year career in Maryland—serving between Washington, D.C., and Baltimore—Jeff spent 11 of those years on SWAT and 7 years as a police sniper.

He is a graduate of four sniper schools, a veteran of national sniper competitions, and a firearms instructor trained by the US Secret Service. Jeff also wrote and led firearms and tactical training programs for his department and holds NRA certifications in both handgun and rifle instruction. His resume includes thousands of hours of advanced training in guns, tactics, and sniping.

After relocating to Colorado, Jeff spent four years instructing at a prominent indoor range in Colorado Springs, where he taught courses in handgun, rifle, defensive, and tactical shooting. A dedicated long-range marksman, Jeff has successfully engaged targets out to 1.56 miles.
