Aurora Sportsmens Club

The Aurora Sportsmen’s Club (ASC) is a private, member-driven shooting complex spread over 270 acres in Waterman, Illinois. With more than 75 years of history, ASC is a hub for precision rifle competitors, benchrest shooters, F-Class marksmen, and dynamic pistol shooters. The facility supports year-round use for members and hosts a full slate of public competitions and training events.

Range Capabilities:

• A 600-yard long-range rifle range featuring a dual berm system for safe and unsafe impacts.
• Rifle/pistol bays at 200, 100, 50, and 25 yards, plus 25-ft handgun lanes.
• Steel targets, barricades, and props for Practical Precision Rifle (PPR) stages.
• Supports F-Class Mid-Range, Smallbore, Bullseye, Benchrest, and Across-the-Course High Power matches.

Training Programs:

• 2-day Long Range Rifle Course ($250) covers DOPE, ballistics, and 600-yard accuracy.
• Led by seasoned instructors; open to non-members who meet prerequisites.

• Practical Precision Rifle (100–600 yards with obstacles).
• USPSA, IDPA, Cowboy Action, Muzzleloading, and more.
• Shotgun sports include trap, skeet, sporting clays, and 5-stand.

Access & Membership:

• Members-only facility with daily access; guests permitted under supervision.
• Non-members may attend events and qualify for long-range shooting.
• Regular Family Membership: $320 initiation, $280 annual dues.

Range Rules:

• No magnum calibers; max velocity 3,100 fps.
• Supported calibers include .308, 6.5 CM, .260 Rem, etc.
• Mandatory safety briefings and strict impact berm requirements.
