Caprock Rifle Club is a dedicated precision rifle facility spanning nearly 700 acres of open South Plains terrain, offering shooters one of the most capable long-range environments in Texas. The range supports distances from 25 yards to 2,500 yards, allowing a full progression from close-range zeroing and load development through true Extreme Long Range Engagements. A 2,900-square-foot covered concrete firing line anchors the main range, supporting stable bench and prone shooting positions for targets extending to 1,300 yards. Above it, a 50-foot elevated shooting platform opens clear sightlines across the property for long-range and ELR work from 500 to 2,500 yards, where wind shifts, mirage, and bullet flight time become major factors in successful impacts.
More than 75 permanent AR500 steel targets are spread throughout the range, reinforced by PRS barricades, positional props, and dedicated sight-in zones equipped with target backers, lighting, and power access for chronographs and ballistic gear. Separate bays for rimfire, handgun, and carbine work support broader marksmanship development, while regular PRS regional matches, NRL Hunter events, and professional training courses keep the facility deeply embedded in the precision rifle competition scene.
