Desoto Rifle and Pistol Club

DeSoto Rifle & Pistol Club (DRPC) is a private, member-based facility located in Panola County near Como, Mississippi. Opened in 2010, the club supports a wide range of firearms disciplines with a focus on rifle and pistol accuracy, training, and community-driven match culture.

The 600-yard long-range rifle range is a standout feature, built specifically to support CMP and NRA-style competitions.

It includes:

• Ten target positions
• Firing lines: 200, 300, and 600 yards
• 1/2" AR550 steel fairway targets at 150, 250, 350, 450, and 550 yards
• Hosts the Mississippi State Rifle Championships

Additional facilities include:

• A 200-yard rifle range with targets at 100, 150, and 200 yards (consists of a 50-yard zero lane)
• A 100-yard range for general rifle and limited pistol use
• Pistol bays allow rimfire and select center-fire rifles
• Regularly held steel plate matches using .22 LR and center-fire pistols (150–250 rounds/stage)

Shooters seeking access to the 600-yard range must complete a formal qualification process, including orientation, skills evaluation, and safety protocols. Drawing from the holster is permitted in sanctioned pistol matches, and covered firing lines support standing, seated, or prone shooting.

Membership options include annual ($250) and life ($2,000), with prorated discounts and limited public access to events. Training offerings include Mississippi Enhanced Carry courses and clinics.

DRPC is best suited for NRA/CMP-style competitors, dedicated marksmen, and pistol shooters seeking a structured, year-round facility with a robust match calendar.
