Olean Rod & Gun Club

Founded in 1921, the Olean Rod & Gun Club is a member-focused shooting facility nestled in rural western New York. While it supports a wide range of disciplines, including trap, skeet, pistol, and rifle the standout for precision shooters is the club's expanding rifle range, now featuring steel gongs at 400, 500, and 600 yards, along with paper target backers placed below existing steel at those distances. The gongs, made of ½" AR500 steel, include 2 MOA challenge sizes: 8" at 400 yards, 10" at 500 yards, and 12" at 600 yards, offering serious shooters a solid test of their skill.

The club hosts monthly PRS-style matches, indicating a growing interest in long-range precision shooting among its members. While exact terrain details are limited, the setting is rural and reportedly maintained by volunteers. Indoor pistol use requires training, and the use of tracers is prohibited.
