Tucked into the terrain of Catskill, New York, Sheepdog Warrior is a purpose-built range catering to precision rifle shooters, PRS competitors, and civilian tactical marksmen. The facility stretches to 1,200 yards, with steel targets placed every few hundred yards, including elevated hillside berms that introduce real wind and angle challenges. A covered firing line supports engagements out to 800 yards while the full-length field pushes distance discipline even further.
The range features tactical bays, a shoot house, and multiple elevated and natural terrain positions, allowing shooters to train in a variety of real-world conditions. Sheepdog Warrior runs a seasonal Precision Rifle Series, featuring timed courses of fire and positional stages, as well as a Rimfire Match Series geared toward juniors and newer competitors—with divisions ranging from classic bolt-action guns to modern .22 semi-autos, shot at distances between 25 and 300 yards.
Structured training is available, including Level 1 and Level 2 Long Range Rifle courses (each 6 hours in length), which cover zeroing, optics, scope theory, alternate positions, and ballistic fundamentals. Shooters must supply their own rifles and match-grade ammo.
Open to the public with hourly or full-day rates, the range also offers a Premium Membership with waived range fees, class discounts, and priority lane access.
