Edward Rivenburg Jr. is a seasoned law enforcement professional with a career spanning three decades in New York State. He began his service in 1981 with the NYS Department of Correctional Services. He later joined the Hunter Town Police Department in 1989. In 1991, he transitioned to the Hudson Police Department, where he served until his retirement in 2009 at the rank of Detective.
Throughout his career, Rivenburg served in multiple high-impact roles, including Patrol Officer, K-9 Officer, Narcotics Detective, SWAT Team Leader, and Sniper. He was cross-designated with the New York State Police CNET and served as a member of the Columbia County Narcotics Task Force.
As an instructor for the Columbia County Sheriff's Department, he specialized in Rapid Response to Active Shooter situations and trained officers in tactical scenarios, also aiding in the development of SOPs for the Hudson Police Department's SWAT and Sniper teams.
