Shannon O’Keefe is the founder and president of Granite Group Inc., a Montana-based international consulting firm specializing in security, tactical training, and defense advisory. A former U.S. Marine and Montana Army National Guard Sniper Instructor, Shannon brings over two decades of elite experience in combat marksmanship, reconnaissance, and operational instruction.
After serving as a U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant with two Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) deployments, Shannon transitioned into the private sector, where he built and managed successful businesses—while never losing his passion for long-range and extreme-distance shooting. He refined his craft alongside top-level shooters in the precision rifle and bench rest community, gaining deep knowledge in reloading and precision weapon systems.
In 2006, Shannon rejoined the Montana Army National Guard and completed Ranger School, Sniper School, and Airborne School. He excelled in reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition roles, ultimately leading Montana’s state sniper section and deploying to Afghanistan as a Sniper Section Leader.
Shannon completed 17 combat deployments as a private military contractor, serving as a trainer and security professional in high-threat environments worldwide.. His work has supported U.S. government missions and strengthened allied forces through instruction in combat marksmanship, close-quarters battle (CQB), combat tracking, surveillance/counter-surveillance, foreign weapons, and vehicle assault operations.
Shannon serves as a security consultant and executive protection specialist, teaching advanced courses to military and law enforcement units.
