Founded before 1889, Tacoma Rifle and Revolver Club (TRRC) is Washington State’s oldest continuously operating shooting facility. Set on a 70-acre, park-like property in University Place, this member-run club emphasizes safety, marksmanship, and community involvement. It hosts a range of rifles, pistols, air guns, and archery disciplines, with active competitive programs in High Power Rifles, Bullseye Pistol, Smallbore Rifle, Benchrest Rifle, Air gun, and Black Powder.
The Main Rifle Range features target placements at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards, along with 18 covered concrete benches and an organized ceasefire system. While the public distances stop at 200 yards, 600-yard matches and prone practices are conducted on extended lanes.
Shooters must complete a Long Range Rifle Safety Clinic to gain access beyond 200 yards unless they hold an NRA High Power classification or equivalent experience. The clinic ensures shooters understand safety, prone positioning, sight adjustments, and pit operations.
TRRC supports standing, seated, and prone shooting positions, with formalized match schedules and the presence of a range officer on weekends. Although no shotgun facilities are available, the club is actively involved in state and regional competition circuits, including sanctioned 600-yard prone matches and air gun field target events.
Ideal for precision shooters, high-power competitors, and disciplined hobbyists, TRRC offers a structured range experience rooted in tradition and precision.
