This 2-day course from Pilot Mountain Arms delivers a full-spectrum introduction to precision rifle shooting. Designed for novice shooters or those without formal training, the course progresses from zeroing and fundamentals to advanced topics, including ballistic software, wind formulas, and positional shooting.
Day one covers the foundational elements: safety, rifle setup, scope mounting, zeroing at 100 yards, and introductory marksmanship. Students build an understanding of MOA and MIL systems and begin working through basic wind reading and hold-off techniques. Day two advances into longer-range application, with students engaging targets at 200 to 600 yards using the ballistic data and wind skills developed the previous day.
Throughout the course, students use a range of tools including Kestrel weather meters, ballistic calculators, and a spotting scope to reinforce real-world application. Instruction is structured around learning to read conditions, apply data, and make corrections in a consistent and repeatable way.
