Level 1 Long Range Shooting School

This is a two-day practical long range course built for hunters and shooters developing a solid field-ready foundation. Instruction starts with a short classroom block on arrival day, then shifts quickly to the range, where students work through rifle setup, zeroing, and core shooting techniques with a strong learn-by-doing format.

Training covers how environmental conditions affect the bullet, how to read wind and mirage, and how to communicate effectively as a shooter-spotter team. Students also move beyond the bench into positional work and hunting-oriented scenario stages, where they range unknown-distance targets, build firing solutions, and apply ballistic app data and range cards with either provided factory gear or their own rifle.

Key training areas include:

• Basic equipment setup and zeroing at 100 and 200 yards
• Effects of wind, temperature, and air density on trajectory
• Reading wind and mirage, including spotting trace and shooter-spotter dialogue
• Seated bench shooting, positional shooting, and shooting from sticks
• Field hunting scenarios with unknown-distance targets, ballistic app use, and building a range card for a personal rifle

This course fits hunters and newer long range shooters who want practical field application rather than extended classroom time. Students using a personal rifle should be prepared to zero it and build data for it during the course.
