This 2-day Precision Rifle 201 course is designed for shooters who have already completed an introductory long-range program and are ready to apply those skills under greater pressure and variability. The course shifts focus from learning fundamentals to executing them independently as both shooter and spotter, with a strong emphasis on wind application and decision-making.

Training begins with a refresher on marksmanship fundamentals and the low-tech wind formula, followed by immediate application on the range. Students confirm zero, validate muzzle velocity, and true ballistic data at distance, reinforcing their ability to build and trust their own DOPE. Engagements range from mid-range to 1,000 yards, with consistent integration of shooter and spotter roles.

The second phase introduces positional shooting and wobble zone management, focusing on building stability from improvised positions commonly encountered in field and competition environments. Students work through prone, kneeling, sitting, and standing positions, applying time constraints and movement to simulate realistic shooting scenarios.

Key training areas include:

  • Application of fundamentals under pressure as a shooter and spotter
  • Low-tech wind formula execution across varying distances
  • Zero confirmation, muzzle velocity capture, and DOPE validation
  • Wobble zone identification and control across multiple positions
  • Positional shooting from prone, kneeling, sitting, and standing
  • Barricade work and timed engagements out to 600 yards
  • Field-based shooting scenarios and mini competitions

This course is best suited for intermediate shooters who have completed a foundational long-range course and can safely operate their rifle without supervision. Students must bring a rifle capable of 1 MOA accuracy, quality optics with external adjustments, and approximately 300 rounds of match-grade ammunition. The course demands a solid baseline skill set, as instruction focuses on performance, efficiency, and applying fundamentals in realistic conditions rather than teaching them from scratch.
