One-day field shooting challenge run by Gunwerks Long Range University for hunters and shooters testing practical mountain rifle skills.

This is a one-day field course and scored challenge built for shooters who want to test practical mountain-hunting rifle work under physical and time pressure. Gunwerks Long Range University runs it as a walk-through or ride-assisted format, with 15 shooting stations spread across rugged terrain and a scored 100-yard cold bore shot at the start.
Across the course, shooters work through realistic field problems that require finding and ranging animal targets, building stable positions, making wind calls, and trying to secure first-round impacts. Instruction is delivered through the course structure itself, with shooters paired together to rotate spotting, call hits and misses, and keep score, followed by a debrief after all stations are complete. The emphasis is on understanding your real field capability and seeing where your process, fitness, and equipment hold up or break down.
Key training areas include:
This course fits hunters and field shooters, including self-taught shooters, who want an honest measure of ethical shot capability in realistic terrain. Students need a zeroed long-range rifle system, 60 rounds, a laser rangefinder with ballistic data, and enough field gear to carry through either the full ruck or the ride-assisted option.
