Next Shot Precision’s Precision Rifle 1 course delivers a strong foundation in long-range marksmanship by breaking down the science behind internal and external ballistics and applying it through hands-on instruction.
What you’ll learn:
- Precision rifle fundamentals: body position, trigger control, breathing, and recoil management
- Scope leveling, rifle setup, and length of pull fitting
- Core ballistic principles and how to use ballistic calculators or Kestrels
- Rapid target acquisition and follow-up shot correction
- Wind reading basics and stability techniques from various positions
How it’s delivered:
- Day 1: 3 hours of classroom instruction (Friday evening)
- Day 2: 5 hours of live-fire range work (Saturday morning)
- Students receive both theory and real-world applications, including chronograph use and gear optimization.
Where and what you’ll shoot:
Engage targets out to your rifle’s maximum effective range using supported and improvised positions.
Gear & prep:
- Required: Scoped rifle, 50+ rounds (100–150 recommended), ear/eye protection, notebook, food/water
- Optional but encouraged: Rangefinder, ballistic app, chronograph (onsite units available), bipod, bags, tripod, spotting scope
