summary

The _Mountain Rifleman_ course is a physically demanding, high-elevation precision shooting experience tailored for long-range hunters looking to master real-world mountain conditions. Held at 4,000–6,500 feet in the rugged Nevada backcountry, this 2-day course immerses you in the environmental challenges faced during alpine hunts—steep angles, shifting thermals, complex wind, and natural obstacles.

You'll learn to:

  • Execute high-angle shots up and down mountainous slopes
  • Read terrain for wind behavior and firing solutions
  • Understand and leverage thermal activity in canyons and valleys
  • Build stable positions using natural terrain and tripods
  • Apply external ballistic adjustments at altitude

Field movement is integral—expect to hike, climb, and shoot from varied elevations throughout both days. Each shooter must be self-sufficient, carrying all necessary food, water, and gear during the course.

Required Gear:

  • Precision rifle (1 MOA or better)
  • Adjustable power scope
  • 100–130 rounds of match-grade ammo
  • Bipod and shooting bag
  • Tripod (strongly recommended)
  • Complete hunting kit or personal field setup

This course is not for beginners. A solid understanding of fundamentals and ballistic data is expected. If you need a tune-up, a one-day Long Range Skills Clinic is offered the day before—available as a discounted 3-day bundle.

It is ideal for hunters preparing for high-altitude, long-range mountain engagements.

Limited slots available — early registration is advised.
