Thompson Long Range

Thompson Long Range, based in Logan, Utah, delivers a proven, no-fluff approach to long-range rifle training. Founded by Mark Thompson and operating for over 20 years, the school has trained more than 3,000 shooters using a unique system that guarantees students will hit a 1,000-yard target—or the Course is free.

Courses are designed for serious hunters and civilian precision shooters, offering structured training that spans scope mounting, ballistics, reloading, and live fire out to 1,000 yards. Shooters use Weatherby 30-378 rifles exclusively—personally configured setups that remove gear-related guesswork. Personal firearms are not permitted to ensure uniform results.

• 1-Day Course – $1,000
• 2-Day Course – $1,550 (includes lodging, meals, classroom + range time)
• The April–August season, with limited seats, is booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

Training takes place on natural terrain across harvested fields and canyons, mirroring real-world shooting conditions. The program emphasizes repeatability, precision, and fast-track skill building without unnecessary classroom time.

Thompson Long Range also utilizes proprietary Twist-Match Bullets, designed for higher velocity and tighter accuracy. Graduates report verified long-range hunting success, and the school is featured on the Epic Outdoors Podcast and various YouTube field sessions.
