BJ Underkofler is an active-duty U.S. Special Operations sniper instructor and former Ranger sniper with a background built on combat experience, leadership, and high-level sniper training. He currently serves as an instructor within the Special Forces Sniper Course at the Miller Training Complex, where he helps develop sniper candidates in advanced marksmanship, fieldcraft, observation, and team-based employment.
Before stepping into this role, Underkofler spent roughly seven years with the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, serving in assault and sniper positions, including machine gunner, gun team leader, fire team leader, sniper, and sniper team leader. His operational résumé includes five combat rotations to Afghanistan and an additional deployment to South Korea.
