Retired US Marine scout sniper and special operations veteran who teaches precision rifle and tactical marksmanship through Target Down Group.

Dan LaLota is a retired US Marine with about 20 years of service in reconnaissance and special operations roles. His background includes Force Reconnaissance, MARSOC, and service as a Marine sniper with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion. He also spent roughly seven years as a Marine scout sniper instructor, and he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor for actions in Fallujah, Iraq.
He now leads Target Down Group, where he teaches precision rifle, sniper-oriented marksmanship, and tactical firearms courses. What makes his instruction relevant to serious shooters is the combination of formal Marine sniper training, time spent teaching other Marines, and operational experience in observation and precision fires. His current client base includes law enforcement, government personnel, and civilian shooters, so his courses are grounded in practical rifle work rather than theory alone.

Five-day precision rifle course covering foundational through advanced long-range skills for serious shooters refining marksmanship.

Target Down Group is a firearms training company based in St. Cloud, Florida, offering precision rifle, tactical rifle, pistol, and custom training in Florida and Virginia.
