Tucked deep in Pike National Forest near Pine, CO, Buffalo Creek Gun Club operates on historic WWII-era terrain at nearly 9,000 ft elevation. The club features two distinct ranges: the Jim Starr Long Range with 15 covered lanes at 200, 300, and 600 yards, and a short-range complex offering 21 lanes split across 100-yard rifle, 50-yard, and pistol bays.
Long-range shooting is supported with clearly defined impact berms and enforced safety protocols, including barricade use at the 600-yard line. While electronic or reactive steel targets aren’t specified, the range layout allows for prone or benchrest shooting with bags or bipods. Precision shooters and CMP competitors regularly use the site, and IDPA-sanctioned matches are hosted here.
Colorado Shooting & Tactical offers training, including handgun, concealed carry, and church security programs. Non-members can shoot under supervision with day passes ($25); discounted rates are available for military and LEO.
