An unregulated shooting zone in Pike National Forest near Woodland Park, CO, Turkey Tracks offers dispersed access to mid-distance rifle shooting in open forest—there are no formal facilities.

Turkey Tracks Shooting Area is a dispersed public shooting zone located 13 miles northwest of Woodland Park, off Highway 67 within Colorado’s Pike National Forest. Though frequently used by locals and visitors for recreational rifle and pistol shooting, this is not a developed range—it’s a natural pull-off area with no benches, berms, or structured safety zones.
This is best suited for experienced shooters comfortable with backcountry etiquette, managing their own safety protocols, and operating in a completely unsupervised environment.
It is not ideal for structured long-range practice or new shooters.
