The Harris Park Shooting Area is a designated dispersed site within the South Platte Ranger District, located off Forest Service Road 108 B near the Harris Park community.
This area is intended for longer-range rifle use as part of the USFS’s South Platte Recreational Shooting Sports initiative. However, no permanent target infrastructure or distance markers are provided.
Shooters operate in an open, sloped clearing with natural backstops, making it a flexible but highly self-regulated environment. The site accommodates prone or bench-rest shooting, and depending on terrain and setup, informal shooting up to 500 yards is possible. There are no benches, berms, or covered firing points—this is a true public land setup.
