Henry County Gun Club in Puryear, TN, offers 600-yard rifle lanes, steel silhouettes, and varied match disciplines across a 125-acre wooded facility that is ideal for qualified long-range and competitive shooters.
Tucked into 125 wooded acres near Puryear, Tennessee, Henry County Gun Club (HCGC) is a private, member-only range serving Northwest Tennessee and Western Kentucky. Its crown jewel is a 600-yard rifle range featuring berms at 100-yard intervals and ten covered firing lanes, including eight prone positions and two benches, optimized for precision shooting.
Rifles must be equipped with adjustable sights or scopes, and all shooters must complete a qualification process or demonstrate capability during competition before accessing the full range. Steel targets are placed up to 600 yards, including IDPA silhouettes at 200, 400, and 600.
Supported disciplines include F-Class Mid-Range, Vintage Military Sniper/Open Sight, Cowboy Smallbore Silhouette, and USPSA/Steel Challenge. Pistol and small-bore rifle shooters benefit from separate 50- and 100/200-yard ranges with concrete benches.
Range rules prohibit armor-piercing, tracer rounds, and standard pistol ammo on the long-range berms. No improvised targets are allowed. While regular access requires membership, HCGC does host public matches throughout the year.
Best suited for qualified long-range marksmen and competitive shooters seeking structured distance training in a rural setting.
