Seattle Rifle & Pistol Association

The Seattle Rifle & Pistol Association (SRPA) is a private shooting club in Machias, Washington (mailing address: Snohomish, WA), offering a disciplined environment for rifle, pistol, trap, and archery. While general use is limited to members, the club opens its gates to the public for scheduled matches and practices, including High Power 500-yard events, silhouette matches, precision pistol, and Monday night archery during warmer months.

The rifle range includes:

• 25 to 200-yard lanes open for member use.
• A 500-yard pavilion is reserved for monthly public matches and scheduled practice days.
• Steel targets at 200 meters, limited to sub-.50 BMG calibers.
• Designated prone platforms (prone allowed only at these stations).
• Electronic target systems are used in High-Power Rifle events, with real-time scoring visible via a tablet or smartphone.

To access the 500-yard line, shooters must pre-qualify at the 200-meter range. Matches follow a strict schedule, often with no muzzle brakes allowed. At the same time, suppressors are permitted (scores won't count for NRA classification). High Power competitions are run according to NRA rules, with divisions for match rifles, service rifles, F-Class, and T/R Class rifles (.35 cal or smaller).

Membership includes range access outside public events and requires agreement to a code of conduct. While pricing isn't publicly listed, SRPA is NRA-affiliated and supports a strong safety culture. RSOs are present during public shoots, such as the Hunter Sight-In Days each fall, and setup begins early for all match events.
