Introduction to Precision Rifle

Introduction to Precision Rifle at Griffin & Howe Shooting Academy is built for shooters who want a structured start in precision rifle shooting or a solid skills refresher at one of the most established shooting schools in the country. The course focuses on the fundamentals that actually translate to the rifle: setup, consistency, and understanding how your system performs.

• Rifle and scope setup, mounting, and maintenance
• Marksmanship fundamentals: trigger control, breathing, follow-through
• MOA vs MRAD and how to apply each system correctly
• Zeroing procedures and point of impact adjustments
• Internal and external ballistics fundamentals
• Practical use of ballistic data and confirming accuracy
• Live-fire application out to 700+ yards

Training is delivered through a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on range work, giving students both the theory and the live-fire application needed to build confidence behind the rifle. The afternoon range session reinforces proper mounting, bore-sighting, and real-time corrections based on observed impacts.

Shooters will engage targets within the supersonic range of their rifle and ammunition, stretching practical accuracy to 700+ yards. Students should arrive with an accurate bolt-action or semi-automatic sporting rifle capable of 1 MOA or better, a quality scope with matching MOA or MRAD adjustments, at least 120 rounds of factory match ammunition, a bipod, two magazines, a rear bag, and note-taking gear.
