Tristan Russell is a retired Green Beret and former Special Forces Sniper Course instructor, now serving as a multi-discipline firearms instructor at Griffin & Howe Shooting Academy. Working at one of the oldest shooting schools in the United States, he delivers handgun and rifle instruction across all skill levels, with a strong focus on practical performance and real-world application.
He leads the Academy’s Hunter Prep Course, guiding shooters through rifle setup, ballistics, and field shooting techniques, enabling consistent hits on life-sized targets beyond 300 yards. Russell also supports advanced precision rifle training on the 900-yard range, covering wind reading, holdovers, shot correction, and cold-bore execution.
