Advanced Precision Rifle

The Advanced Precision Rifle at Griffin & Howe Shooting Academy is built for experienced shooters looking to move beyond fundamentals and start refining real long-range performance. This course focuses on the details that separate consistent distance hits from misses, including advanced ballistics, environmental factors, and the ability to read and correct shots in real time.

• Advanced ballistics, including stages of bullet flight and extended range drop
• Measuring and truing muzzle velocity for accurate ballistic data
• Wind reading, drift calculation, and environmental corrections
• Holdovers, shot corrections, and real-time adjustments
• Spotting bullet trace and using visual feedback to refine impacts
• Effects of Coriolis, aerodynamic jump, and other external factors
• Alternate shooting positions and adapting to non-standard scenarios
• Cold bore shot understanding and first-round impact management

Training is delivered through a practical, hands-on format where students apply data on the rifle, not just on paper. Expect a strong focus on spotting, feedback, and making fast, effective corrections based on observed impacts and changing conditions.

Shooters will work at extended distances where environmental factors become critical, reinforcing the need for solid data and disciplined execution. Students should arrive with a rifle capable of 1 MOA or better, a quality scope with matching MOA or MRAD adjustments, at least 120 rounds of factory match ammunition, and support gear including a bipod, rear bag, and magazines.
