Long Range 2 Advanced

This is a multi-day combined-format long range course built for shooters who have time to work through the full LR2 curriculum and continue into the Advanced block in one class. It is aimed at students with enough prior shooting experience to benefit from a denser program that moves past fundamentals into problem definition, more detailed ballistic work, and a heavier emphasis on reading conditions.

Instruction covers the long range rifle system from setup and caliber and optic choices through practical use of ballistic computers, body position, recoil management, and wind correction. The advanced portion adds more work on diagnosing what the shooter sees on the range, using reticles effectively, building custom ballistic formulas, and making better wind calls through mirage, terrain, vegetation, and spotting scope observation.

Key training areas include:

• Rifle breakdown, caliber evaluation, and scope selection including MOA vs mils and reticle choices
• Ballistic computer use, including making the most of solver data and building custom formulas
• Wind reading and correction using mirage, terrain features, vegetation, and spotting scope observation
• Basic internal, external, and terminal ballistics, plus density altitude effects on bullet flight
• Body position, recoil management, positional shooting, speed shooting, high angle classroom work, and use of first-round hit formulas

This course fits experienced shooters, competitors, hunters, and MIL or LE personnel who want more time on long range problem solving than a shorter class allows. Students should bring the same basic support items used in the other classes, including hearing protection, note-taking materials, and ideally a shooting mat and spotting scope.
