Bruiser Industries is a mobile firearms training company led by Joe Dawson, a 14-year Navy SEAL veteran and former course manager for Naval Special Warfare's LV1 Sniper Program.
Founded in 2018, Bruiser specializes in no-fluff precision rifle and scoped carbine instruction for civilians, LEO, and military shooters. Courses are hosted nationwide, including at Ben Franklin Range (PA) and facilities in Florida, with Dawson and his team traveling coast to coast to deliver tier-one training.
Core Programs Include:
- Precision Rifle Training 1 – 2-day fundamentals-based course covering wind calls, ballistics, and field positions using slings, tripods, and improvised supports.
- Scoped Carbine Training 1 & 2 – LPVO-focused carbine work built for dynamic engagements, recoil control, and transitions across standing, kneeling, and barricaded positions.
- LEO/MIL Precision Rifle Courses – 3-day restricted-access sniper training for law enforcement and military agencies, with verification required.
Lead Instructors:
- Joe Dawson: Former SEAL sniper, lead breacher, and NSW sniper course manager—a competitive shooter and industry contributor (Recoil, Ballistic, Modern Service Weapons).
- John "JR" Ray: 27-year LAPD veteran and SWAT sniper with Marine Corps service and deep instruction credentials in rifles, breaching, and tactical robotics.
Courses emphasize real-world application, from the shooter-spotter relationship to managing gear under pressure. Most classes cap at .338 caliber and require 300–450 rounds. There is no public range access; training is course-based only.
