Joe Dawson is Veles Industries LLC's founder and lead instructor, a premier firearms training company known for its no-compromise approach to modern tactical instruction. Joe brings over 14 years of elite service in the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams, where he served multiple combat deployments supporting OIF, OEF, and Pacific operations. His roles included Lead Breacher, Platoon, Troop Sniper, and ultimately, Team Lead Sniper, showcasing a deep foundation in real-world tactical applications.
Joe spent five years as an instructor within Naval Special Warfare, including two years as Leading Petty Officer for SEAL Qualification Training (Land Warfare) and three years as Course Supervisor and Manager for the NSW Level 1 Sniper Program, making him one of the most experienced sniper instructors in the U.S. special operations community.
Beyond the military, Joe has taught and consulted with Southern California law enforcement agencies and civilian training groups nationwide. He also contributes to the industry through freelance writing for RECOIL, Ballistic Magazine, Modern Service Weapons, Breach Bang Clear, and The Mag Life_.
