Carson is a former U.S. Army Special Forces soldier and Military Intelligence veteran who instructs with ATX Precision. He combines military experience, competitive shooting, and ranch-grown hunting roots to train shooters of all levels.

Carson grew up on a working cattle ranch in southwest Texas, where he developed a deep appreciation for hunting, the outdoors, and the discipline required to thrive in rugged environments. Those early experiences shaped a lifelong connection to firearms, wildlife, and practical field skills.
After high school, Carson joined the U.S. Army, serving five years in Military Intelligence, followed by eight years in Special Forces. His military background provided extensive experience with firearms, tactical decision-making, and structured training environments.
While attending the University of Arizona, Carson expanded his shooting background into competitive pistol sports, competing in both USPSA and IDPA matches. This combination of military and competition shooting gives him a well-rounded perspective on marksmanship and firearms handling.
At ATX Precision, Carson enjoys helping shooters improve their skills, whether they are complete beginners or experienced marksmen. His teaching style focuses on clear instruction, practical techniques, and tailoring each session to the student's individual goals.
