Major (R) Shannon Kay, a decorated SOF veteran and former Army sniper instructor, leads K&M Precision Rifle Training, offering elite-level instruction and a purpose-built long-range facility for MIL, LEO, and competitive shooters.
Major (R) Shannon Kay is the owner and lead instructor at K&M Precision Rifle Training, one of the nation’s premier precision rifle academies. With over 20 years in both conventional and Special Operations units, Shannon brings unmatched depth as a sniper, leader, and instructor. A graduate of the US Army Sniper School and Special Operations Target Interdiction Course, he has served as a Sniper Section Leader, Ranger Instructor, Company Commander, and Battalion Operations Officer.
Shannon has trained hundreds of military snipers and marksmen, helped revise the Army’s sniper doctrine (FM 3-22.10), and led early development of M110 SASS integration and sniper course upgrades. After founding K&M in 2011, he designed and built the K&M Shooting Complex in Tennessee, featuring ranges that extend to 1,400 yards, moving targets, and urban sniper environments.
He’s also a decorated combat veteran (Silver Star, Bronze Stars, Purple Hearts), reticle designer (US Optics, Kahles), and top-ranked PRS competitor. Shannon directed and expanded the Precision Rifle Series (PRS), tripling its size and launching the Club Series.
