Mike Chauvin is the founder and lead instructor of Snipercraft Northeast, bringing over 35 years of law enforcement service and 28 years of SWAT and sniper experience to the training field. Based in New England, Mike is currently a sniper team leader and supervisor with the Hartford, CT Police Department and serves as the Region 1 Northeast Representative for the American Sniper Association.
His distinguished police career spans roles as a patrol officer, field training officer, detective, FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) supervisor, Internal Affairs supervisor, and Training Division leader. As a sniper and tactical commander, Mike has led or participated in countless real-world missions, including presidential and vice-presidential protection details.
Mike has been a firearms and use-of-force instructor since 1992 and is deeply committed to legal, tactical, and policy-based training. His instruction emphasizes realistic scenario-based preparation, with modules directly modeled after actual police sniper deployments. His training philosophy centers on imparting to every student a tactical mindset, marksmanship skills, and mental readiness to protect their community and survive the rigors of sniper operations.
