Gunnison Sportsmen's Association

The Gunnison Sportsmen’s Association spans 55 acres just west of Gunnison, Colorado. It serves as the region’s most complete private facility for long guns, handguns, and archery.

This member-driven range supports long-range rifle work to 600 yards. The terrain is shaped by Gunnison’s high-altitude valleys and frequent wind shifts, ideal for serious shooters looking to dial in real-world dope.

• The 600-yard range, accessed via the lower gate, offers open land suitable for prone and bench shooting. Users must provide their own spotting and wind tools.
• Upper bays support handgun and light rifle use, some with fixed steel targets, while the indoor range and outdoor pistol zones restrict centerfire rifle use.
• Paper targets are standard across all bays. Steel use is limited and marked.
• Disciplines include USPSA-style matches hosted by High Country Practical Shooters, youth and women’s clinics, and concealed carry instruction — though no sniper-specific or PRS-focused training is formally listed.
• Members must attend a safety orientation, and guests may shoot under direct supervision, but there are no public access days.
