The Iosco Sportsmen's Club operates across two locations—Wurtsmith Range in Oscoda and East Tawas Range—offering diverse shooting opportunities for precision marksmen, competitive shooters, and recreational users. Founded in 1947, the club combines a long-standing community focus with event-driven access to long-range shooting facilities.
The Wurtsmith Range supports 25 to 600-yard rifle shooting, with the 600-yard range reserved for scheduled events, including Mid-Range F-Class, Highpower, G-Class (bench), and "Sniper" matches. Members have daily access to the 300-yard range and all pistol bays. Prone and bench rest positions are commonly used. The pistol bays feature covered shooting lines and host IDPA-style practices and steel plate matches. The shotgun range includes trap, skeet, and 5-stand, supported by a rotating summer league.
The East Tawas Range offers 25, 50, and 100-yard lanes under a covered shed, ideal for rimfire, black powder, and recreational shooting. Both ranges include 3D archery, with a raised platform and traditional flat bales.
Membership is $85 per year, plus a one-time $100 fee, and includes spouses and children under 18. Non-members can shoot on Fridays through Sundays during the summer months, with public events such as CPL classes and veterans' fun shoots.
