Portage Lake Sportsmens Club

Portage Lake Sportsmen’s Club (PLSC) is a members-only shooting facility situated on 80 wooded acres, featuring a diverse range of shooting disciplines across rifle, pistol, shotgun, and archery. The rifle and pistol range spans from 25 to 400 yards.

The concrete firing line is covered and equipped with benches and tables, making it suitable for bench rest or prone shooters. Recent upgrades, partially funded by the Friends of NRA, have improved both safety and accessibility.

The club also hosts practical pistol events, such as IDPA, during the summer months and features a 50-yard horseshoe-shaped pistol bay with rimfire-only swinging targets. A 5-stand shotgun course and stationary archery range are present. However, some facilities (like walking archery and trap) may be temporarily offline.

Access is limited to members and their families, with no public hours available on the range. Membership tiers include Life, Regular, Senior, Student, and Associate, with opportunities to offset dues through volunteer work. Operating hours are sunrise to sunset, year-round, except during posted events.
