South Kent Sportsman's Club

The South Kent Sportsman's Club (SKSC) is a member-operated range complex in Dorr, Michigan, serving precision rifle shooters and firearms enthusiasts across southwestern Michigan. The club's crown jewel is a dedicated 500-meter range, segmented with rimfire (40–100m) and centerfire (200–500m) backstops, as well as a covered firing line for prone or bench positions.

To shoot at 500 meters, members must meet specific prerequisites:

• Show membership ID and photo ID
• Firearm must be zeroed at 200 meters
• Demonstrate knowledge of optics and ballistics
• Follow the Range Officer's commands at all times

Use of the 500m range is by appointment only and requires the presence of an SKSC-certified Range Officer. During winter, special access must be requested due to limited maintenance.

Beyond long-range capabilities, SKSC supports:

• General Purpose and Match-Only Bunkers
• Pistol and rifle bays up to 100 yards
• Trap, skeet, and sporting clays
• Segmented rimfire-only lanes at shorter distances

The facility is member-only for most operations, with limited public access to select shotgun or competitive events. While the club does not list formal training programs, it maintains a strict safety-first culture with structured supervision on long-distance ranges.
