Randy Schnell

Randy Schnell is a highly respected sniper instructor, combat veteran, and senior leader in the US Army National Guard with over 27 years of continuous service. He enlisted in 1996 and has served in roles ranging from Sniper Instructor to Chief Instructor at the National Guard Marksmanship Training Center’s Sniper Course, where he has trained thousands of Army snipers.

Deployed to Iraq during the years of 2004, 2005, 2007, Randy brings extensive operational experience to every lesson. He helped develop the WPW Sniper Championship at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, a premier sniper event for U.S. military branches and allied international teams. He also collaborated with Picatinny Arsenal and Battle Lab in the development and testing of advanced sniper systems, including the M107 Ammunition, Integrated Ballistic Reticle System (IBRS), the M110A1 SASS, and M2010.

Randy’s sniper credentials are matched by his competitive accolades, he was the _winner of the 2005 International Sniper Competition_ at Fort Benning and placed runner-up in 2007. Many of his former students have gone on to put in the top ranks of both the WPW and ISC sniper competitions.

Following his military deployments, Randy earned certifications from the U.S. Department of State as a Designated Defense Marksman (DDM), Protective Security Specialist (PSS), and Advanced Reaction Force (ARF). He served for two years at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul as a DDM/PSS and now works in the private sector as a Site Security Manager for Riot Platforms Inc.

Randy is currently serving as HHC 1-153rd Infantry First Sergeant (M-Day) and attending the U.S. Army Sergeant Major Academy. His passions include his family, the outdoors, and passing on the art and science of long-range precision shooting.
