Volunteer-run range in Kernville, CA with steel and paper targets out to 750 yards. Offers rifle, pistol, trap, and archery with public access on Sundays.

The Kern River Valley Gun Association manages the Cyrus Canyon Shooting Range, a 37-acre outdoor facility in Sequoia National Forest just outside Kernville, CA. Situated at 6076 Cyrus Canyon Rd, this no-frills community range supports rifle, pistol, trap, and archery shooting. Steel and paper targets reportedly extend out to 750 yards, based on verified user reviews.
Public shooters can access the range on Sundays from 8 AM to 1 PM for just $5. At the same time, members have unrestricted daily access from sunup to sundown.
This range is best for independent shooters and locals looking to extend their range to mid/long range in a quiet national forest setting. It lacks the infrastructure for formal PRS/NRL matches or ELR training, but it serves as a solid budget-friendly option with meaningful distance.
